After my trip to Pennsylvania, I had a whole lot of fun parts (and not a lot of money left) and I wanted to start putting on them on my Jeep. The first thing I did was put in my new seats. We bolted them in and they fit nice and easy.
The second thing I tackled was the grill. There were bolts on the inside connected to the radiator that I had to take out so I could get the grill off. After I removed the bolts, the radiator was loose so we had to put 2x4’s under it so it wouldn’t move too much. Next there were bolts in the wheel well, 5 on each side, that I took out. A long bolt was also connected to the frame that I removed. We unplugged all the lights and carefully unwired all the connections. Now I was ready to put my new grill on, so I did everything backwards- first I plugged in the whole wiring harness, put the frame bolt on, then the wheel well bolts, and finally I put in the bolts to the radiator.
Next my brother JD helped walk me through changing out the steering column. First I took off the dashboard. Then I unbolted the steering column from the steering shaft, unbolted the rest of the bolts holding it in place, and unplugged all the wires. When I got the new steering column, I plugged it all in, then bolted the steering shaft in place. We had to make sure everything worked so we connected the battery and tested the lights and windshield wipers. Then we put the dash back on and we were done!
My Sahara Seats, new steering column, and dog Wrigley.
The "new" grill. I had to take off the chrome one and replace it with one we could paint when I am able to paint it like the ones in the Jurassic Park movie.
